COMING: ANNUAL SENIOR SEND-OFF EVENT ON MAY 5th (Cinco De Mayo) !! Held at Chops Bowling (2518 S. 13th St.) 12:00 – 2:30 PM
We will have lunch for the group from Jacobo’s, followed by the recognition of the senior students who are graduating. We will also welcome the new students who are joining the NorthSTAR program this next year.
We will then get our bowling shoes on and see who the true bowlers are within our group! We hope to see all of you there !!!

MARCH 2011: NorthSTAR’s Recruitment Breakfast
The annual NorthSTAR Recruitment breakfast was held on Thursday, March 10th at Omaha North High School. Applications were handed out to interested studnets. Thanks to all who applied ; these applications are under review by the Mutual NorthSTAR mentors. Students will be notified once the selection process is completed. Good luck to everyone who applied !! We are looking forward to seeing new faces in our group !!

February 24, 2011: NorthSTAR’s Architecture Engineering Event was held from 11:30 – 2PM at DLR Group of Omaha, located at 400 Essex Court in Regency Park. Please look on the Events tab for more information.
January 2011: NorthSTAR’s January event was cancelled/postponed due to several days of school cancellations. Our January events have been hit hard for two years in a row because of weather !
December 2010 Event: This event was held on December 7 at UNMC (Unitversity of Nebraska Med Center). There was a short presentation about different medical fields available to consider as careers. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions of current medical students who are studying various programs at UNMC.
NorthSTAR’s November event is the annual Thanksgiving Food Basket Project, sponsored by Mutual of Omaha’s HALO Club. This event was held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 9:00 AM till about 1 PM. This is a wonderful community service project where we all help to assemble food baskets and deliver to the needy in our area. Students helped with a number of tasks: packing the boxes of food, helping Mutual Associates load boxes into their cars for delivering, and delivering those food boxes to the homes of those families receiving the donations.
Afterwards, NorthSTAR mentors treated students to lunch at Mama’s Pizza.
