Glen Oaks Swim Club

Olympic Champion Josh Davis and Ben Wildman-Tobriner led an awesome BREAKout! Swim Clinic in Carmichael, CA on June 6, 2009 for the swimmers of the Glen Oaks Swim Club.

My two children attended your swim clinic at Glen Oaks in Carmichael, CA this evening (Saturday, June 6th). I was amazed! God has truly given you a gift — and it is not just swimming. You relate to these kids so well and have found a way to make them hear what you are saying. My kids were talking about you non-stop in the car on the way home. We would love to attend another clinic when you are back in this area.

My son was amazed with the freestyle tips. He is on his down year (swimming as a 9 y/o in the 9-10 age group) and just got bumped from the A freestyle relay (he is still on the A Medley Relay as the backstroker — he LOVES Aaron Piersol!). He is determined that by practicing the drills you taught him and tightening up his streamline that he can shave a few second off his freestyle and reclaim his spot on the A relay. He also wears a St. Sebastian (patron St. of athletes) swimming medal, and we figure divine intervention can’t hurt! We are are practicing Catholics and the children attend Catholic school. Our faith is very important to us (and so are our swim times).

My daughter had a smile on her face the whole clinic.

Next year, I will bring my youngest swimmer to the clinic as well. He is six this year, and it is his third year on the team. He’s got his 25 free down to 30.4 seconds, and we’re hoping to hit the 25 mark before champs in July. He can’t wait to race butterfly next year when he is seven.

God Bless you and your wife and children. Thank you so much for the gift you gave me and my children this evening.
