Olympic Champion Josh Davis & World Champ Haley McGregory led an awesome BREAKout! Swim Clinic in Huntersville, NC on October 11, 2009 for the swimmers of the Gaston Gators Swim Team.

As a parent, I was blown away by the clinic. Having participated in many motivational as well as instructional programs over the last 30 years or so, I can say with confidence that this clinic was by far the most well rounded, pertinent and kept my attention (as an observer) than any I’ve attended. The only thing I would like to see is a longer version in our area during a school break. There are a number of swimmers who lack the confidence to be great even though they have the skills. This type clinic is much more productive helping these under achievers than the”hang out with the world champions” type clinic where it’s all about being seen with a particular celeb. This clinic focused on the swimmers and what they need to do, rather than the greatness of the leaders. My daughters really enjoyed the clinic. The shirt, gift bag,snacks, photo op etc were right on target. At the end of the day, I believe it did as much for the parents as it did for the swimmers.
Thanks for having Josh and Haley as leaders. Kids need that type of role model.
