Packing for the Pick-up
Monday, July 27th, 2009A crew of Mutual of Omaha volunteers helped prepare all the donations from the company’s “100 Ways to Help the Community” collection drive to be picked-up by the nonprofit organizations later in the day. They were tasked with counting the donations to be separated equally between all the organizations.
The Last Group: Day 100
Friday, July 24th, 2009The final group of 100 Days of Caring volunteers from Mutual of Omaha spent their time at the Nebraska Food Bank, painting numbers on the risers that hold the large food donations. The numbers will help the Food Bank stay organized and keep track of their inventory.

Friday, July 17th, 2009Each year, Heartland Family Service provides health, nutrition and safety training for childcare providers in the Omaha metro area. While the adults are advancing their education, the children get to play games at the mini-carnival set up just for them.
Mutual of Omaha volunteers helped supervise and play with the kids, who really kept the volunteers on the go.

Stuffing “Dance for a Chance” Invitations
Thursday, July 16th, 2009A few Mutual of Omaha volunteers helped Youth Emergency Services prepare for an upcoming fundraiser, Dance for a Chance, by putting together the judges’ score cards and stuffing more than 500 invitations.
Weaving a Privacy Fence
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009A group of Mutual of Omaha volunteers weaved plastic slots into the chain-linked fence at the Siena/Francis House, creating privacy for the residents of the homeless shelter and saving the organization hours of work.

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009With the volunteer/board/multi-purpose room already painted the day before, some Mutual of Omaha volunteers spent their time at the Food Bank painting the white cinder block hallway, making the area more warm and welcoming for all who work and volunteer at the Food Bank.
